Hi, there!
It’s spring in Japan! I am on spring break from March 13 until April 9. I’ll be a high school student next month! Schools in Japan start in April and end in March. So excited! Some of my friends have gone to different schools, which is very sad, but most of the others are going to the same school, which is awesome! Also, I’m looking forward to making new friends coming in from 10th grade!
One thing I really need to tell you is that during my break, I’m literally studying EVERY DAY! My new teachers are super evil, they gave me tons of assignments! I don’t think we call this a break, it should be renamed “STUDY WEEKS” or “Pre-high school semester“, or something.
Although I’m living on a tight schedule, I am doing what I can’t when school starts. Last week, I visited my grandparents’ house. My grandparents on my mother’s side took me to a BBQ to celebrate my junior high school graduation! Japanese elementary school is from grades 1 to 6, followed by three years of junior high school and three years of high school. Plus, I got to play Nintendo Switch with my aunt! She was so good at it that my sister and I had to be taken it super seriously. It’s called “Momotetsu”, have you ever played it before? It’s something similar to The Game of Life.
Then, I had dinner with my grandparents on my father’s side at their house, mom bought a can full of oysters straight from the sea and we all enjoyed grilled fresh oysters! We ate, laughed, and talked for hours! You know what, I told them how hard I’ve worked over the past school year and made them proud of Me! 😉
Half of my spring break has already passed, but there’re still many fun things and events waiting for me! Can’t wait to tell you all!
Anyways, see you soon! I’ll come back with lots of stories to share with you!
