On March 30, I went to Takamatsu city in Kagawa prefecture! I went there to take the Eiken test and in the hope that I could also do some sightseeing after that. Eiken is an English language test in Japan. There are seven levels from Grade 5 to Grade 1 and this time I took Grade Pre-1. Actually, I was going to take the test somewhere near me but all seats were full and the only remaining options that were open and relatively close to my home were in Takamatsu city.
It was a kinda trip, I woke up early in the morning and got into my mom’s car this time, with Choco! I was looking forward to being outside with her after the test!
We went to a shrine called Konpira-san, which is famous for its long challenging 1368 steps to the top! We climbed and climbed and reached about 500 steps, and then took the retuning road😁 You know the sun was warm and sunny in late March, it was so hard to climb steps with Choco at her pace. I kept my mask on all the way, I wonder how many people around the world are still wearing masks because I don’t see anyone not covering their faces in Japan.
I got to eat a lot of delicious food; Udon which all tourists to Kagawa prefecture don’t want to miss, shaved ice, ice cream, and BUBBLE WAFFLES! A few weeks ago, I saw bubble waffles on an Instagram post and remembered how much I liked when I was in Canada. As soon as I saw the post, I asked my mom to take me for bubble waffles. Then, my sister googled for me and found out a shop in the next prefecture. Mom soon took us to the shop! It was delicious! However, it tasted slightly different to what I remember. That’s when my journey for bubble waffles began.
I went to a bubble waffle shop on my Tokyo trip a week ago. And then, I found a shop and had bubble waffles in Kagawa as well. To date, the one I had in Tokyo tasted the closest to what I remember.
Anyway, everything was awesome but the best part was that Choco was with me!
I enjoyed beautiful cherry blossom viewing walking with Choco.
I hope Choco enjoyed it as much as I did!
